Kroma 2.0

Client: Kroma.ai, a Growth Warrior Capital portfolio company

Project Timeline: March - April 2023

Overview

Kroma.ai sought to enhance their AI-powered pitch deck creation tool, Kroma 2.0, specifically for seed-stage founders. The goal was to create a standalone MVP experience that guides users through creating high-quality, fundable pitch decks, either by improving existing decks or building new ones from scratch.

My Role

As a UX Designer, I was responsible for defining the user flow, collecting data points, and designing the proposed flow for the Kroma 2.0 experience. This included:

  • Designing user flows for both users with existing decks and those starting from scratch

  • Creating a system for surfacing and selecting AI-driven recommendations

  • Ensuring seamless design handoff to the development team

Key Challenges

  • Creating an intuitive and efficient user experience for a complex AI-driven tool

  • Balancing user control with AI guidance

  • Designing for a fast-paced MVP development cycle

Process and Solution

  1. Understanding the Project: Through initial conversations with the team and provided project scopes, I gained a deep understanding of Kroma 2.0's goals, target audience, and desired functionality.

  2. Defining User Flows: I collaborated closely with the team to define the overall user flow, ensuring a clear and logical path for both user segments (those with and without existing decks).

  3. Data Collection and Design: I worked to identify the necessary data points and options to inform the design, such as scoring metrics, benchmarking criteria, and potential recommendations. Based on this, I designed the proposed flow, incorporating features like:

    • Clear paths for users with and without existing decks

    • A system for presenting and selecting AI recommendations

    • A way to review and revise dismissed recommendations

    • A method for viewing proposed decks based on selected recommendations

  4. Collaboration and Handoff: Throughout the project, I maintained open communication with the GWC and Kroma teams, ensuring alignment with project goals and addressing any questions. I also prioritized a seamless handoff to the development team, providing necessary documentation and support.

Outcomes and Impact

  • Clear and actionable design deliverables for the Kroma 2.0 MVP experience

  • A user-centric design approach that prioritized the needs and goals of seed-stage founders

  • Efficient and effective collaboration with the Kroma.ai team

Note: As the Kroma 2.0 project is still in development, specific metrics and outcomes related to user engagement and pitch deck success are not yet available.
